Hyde Park Houses in 2009 & What To Expect in 2010

 What was the real estate market for houses and condos like in Hyde Park, a neighbourhood in north west London in 2009 and what to expect for 2010?   

Homes in Hyde Park       

    From January 01, 2009 to December 31, 2009, 42 homes in Hyde Park exchanged hands and it took an average of 58 days for homes to sell. The majority were 2 storey houses.      The average asking price was $268,540 and those that sold, did so for 99.5% of asking which was $268,402.

    Averages are a good starting point to understand the swings in price; however, for example, a lot of the above sales were brand new homes mixed in with some  homes under 5 years old. For an in depth report, give Ty a call.                                     

What Does This All Mean? For Sellers:

      Hyde Park in London is quite stable with a lot of new construction still occurring. 

           Economists are predicting real estate in the London region may increase 8-9% in 2010 and interest rates to increase as high as 6%. Hyde Park will be a neighbourhood that may see these price increases because of the amenities and the inventory of homes for sale.

Hyde Park  has Hyde Park Road which is a north-south arterial road in London Ontario, Canada. It extends from the Thames River in the Oakridge area northward through the village and road namesake of Hyde Park and north of the city to Highway 7.

Hyde Park Road today  has plenty of shopping, new home sub divisions for its entire length, and is a main road between Oxford Street and Fanshawe Park Road. There is a large  big-box development near Fanshawe Park Road.

Hyde Park is a great close knit community with a wide range of service clubs and sports organizations.
