You have decided that it is time to move. Maybe you are being transferred. Maybe you are moving up or downsizing. Whatever the reason, your house is going on the market.
You have interviewed agents and found the one you want to work with you.
Don't stop there. Find a stager as well. Your agent may provide you with a consult or they may have a stager they recommend.
Get your consult before you start perparing your home for sale. Make sure your are placing your time and money in the right areas.
Your agent and stager bring an objective eye to your home. They are trained to look at your home with the eyes of a buyer. There is no emotional attachment to the house, no memories to color our view. When your home goes on the market it becomes a product that has to compete with the other homes on the market.
Once your house is on the market your agent will get feedback from the showings. Listen to the feedback. It will help you fine tune the presentation of your home.
You want your homes reputation to be 'a dream to show'
NOT 'needs work' OR 'over priced'.
If you decided not to use a stager and you are getting a lot of negative comments, step back, pause, and get a stager in to help you. Your agent can then go back to the other agents and tell them the house has been staged and shows so much better.
Don't be the house that is 'filthy' or 'over priced' or 'room are small'. Choose a professional who can guide you through the process to a successful conclusion.
