Did Your Turkey Use a Sunblock?

In this world of rules and regulations my neck muscles get a great workout because I am constantly shaking my head!

In an 18 month battle the Organic Council of Ontario has had with the turkey industry marketing board seems to have been settled!

The rule requiring all flocks of more than 50 turkeys to be raised under a solid roof was intended to prevent contact with wild birds that might carry avian influenza.

The solution!

Conventional turkey producers will still be required to raise birds under a roof. Organic birds will only have to be covered by a solid roof one week prior to slaughter and a random test must be produced on a least 20 birds in a flock for avian influenza.

Regardless of the above ruling, I have a few thoughts that go through my mind:

Will dark meat really be light meat? Do turkeys wear sunglasses? Do they use a sunblock?

I know what most of you are thinking but that is OK. I am aware that not all of us are 100% all there but in this world of discount commissions etc. I thought I'd decrease my mental posture in the AR community by 1% (my calculation) and I know some of you might say -99%!
